What Happens During a Root Canal?

During a root canal treatment, we will create a small hole in your tooth. Then we will take out the infected pulp before we carefully clean the tooth’s inner chambers. Once we’re sure that no harmful bacteria are remaining, the tooth will be re-filled and re-sealed. Note that a local anesthetic will be used to keep your mouth numb, so you are comfortable, for the duration of your root canal treatment. Furthermore, a dental crown will likely be necessary to keep the tooth safe.
